Resizing Policy
At Aurumya, we understand that getting the right ring size is important.
This policy explains when resizing is available, what is included, and the limits for different ring styles.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
1. What we offer
-
Aurumya offers one complimentary ring resizing for each ring.
- The resizing service itself is free for the first resize.
- The customer is responsible for:
- Shipping the ring to our Brisbane address, and Any insurance costs for sending the ring to us and back
If a made to order ring cannot be safely resized within our limits because of its style, we will discuss options with you. In these cases the ring may need to be remade in the new size, and normal making charges will apply again, in addition to shipping.
For ready-to-ship rings that are in stock, if we are notified within 14 days of delivery and the ring cannot be safely resized due to its style, we may offer to remake the ring once in the new size without additional making charges, with the customer covering shipping. If the ring has been worn or the request is made after 14 days, we are happy to resize the ring where possible, but any remake will be at the customer’s cost.
2. Rings that cannot be resized
Some designs cannot be resized because resizing would risk damaging the setting or stones.
Rings that generally cannot be resized include:
-
Full pavé bands
-
Tension settings
-
Full pavé eternity-style bands
-
Open bands
Rings made in: - Titanium
-
Pt600
-
Carbon fibre
-
Tantalum
For these styles, we may suggest alternatives such as remaking the ring in the correct size (charges may apply).
3. Rings that can be resized within limits
Other designs can usually be resized, but only within certain size ranges.
As a general guide (in AU ring sizes):
-
Pavé band (⅔ pavé and less):
Up to approx. 2.5 sizes up or 2 sizes down
-
Triple pavé band:
Up to approx. 1 size up or ½ size down
-
Plain band:
Up to approx. 4 sizes up or down
These are general ranges only. The exact limit depends on:
-
The ring’s design and width
-
The number and position of stones
-
The overall structural integrity of the band
For each ring, we will confirm what is realistically possible.
4. Special settings and custom designs
Some settings require extra care and may have tighter limits.
Basket settings
-
Basket settings cannot be bent around like a normal band.
-
Larger resizes can make the band look more oval.
-
As a guide, basket settings can usually be resized about ½ a size less than the general limits above.
-
Example: a basket setting with a pavé band may be resized up to 2 sizes up and 1.5 sizes down, instead of 2.5 up / 2 down.
Cathedral settings
-
Only the bottom half of the band can be rounded.
-
Larger resizes can make the ring appear more oval.
-
As a guide, cathedral settings can also usually be resized about ½ a size less than the general limits above.
Certain custom rings
-
Some custom designs need to be assessed individually.
-
We may need to inspect the design to confirm whether resizing is possible without compromising strength or stone security.
-
In some cases, resizing may not be recommended and remaking may be the safer option.
Our priority is always the structural integrity of the ring.
