Warranty Policy

At Aurumya, we take care to describe our jewellery accurately and to deliver pieces that match what you ordered.
This Warranty Policy explains what is covered, what is not covered, and how it sits alongside our other policies and Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

1. What this Warranty Policy covers

This policy applies to jewellery purchased from aurumya.com.au, including:

  • Ready-to-ship pieces
  • Made to order and custom pieces

It works together with:

  • Lifetime Diamond Warranty – covers diamond and gemstone specifications
  • Returns & Refunds Policy – including 30-day change-of-mind returns for eligible ready-to-ship items
  • Resizing Policy – complimentary first resize (within design limits)

This page focuses on manufacturing and description-related issues, not change of mind. You can read more about change of mind policy in Returns and Refunds Policy

2. Our warranty commitments

Subject to the normal tolerances described below, we warrant that:

1. Design and description

  • The jewellery you receive will match the design and key specifications agreed or described at the time of sale.

2. Metal purity

  • The gold or platinum purity will match the description on your order and the product page.
  • If gold or platinum purity does not match the description, Aurumya will provide a full refund for the item.

3. Diamonds and gemstones (summary)

  • Stone characteristics (colour, clarity and other certificate-based details) are covered under our Lifetime Diamond Warranty.
  • If a covered stone is later found not to match the agreed specifications, Aurumya will refund the stone price, in line with that policy.

3. Fit for normal use

  • The jewellery will be suitable for normal wear for its intended purpose, provided it is used and cared for appropriately.

If an item is not what we promised during the sale (for example, incorrect design, incorrect diamond specifications, or incorrect metal purity), you may be entitled to a repair, remake or refund, depending on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Normal tolerances and measurements

Jewellery manufacturing involves normal tolerances, particularly for hand-made and made to order pieces.

You should expect that:

  • Dimensions and weights

    • Ring sizes, band widths, heights and total diamond weights shown on the website are approximate.
    • Final dimensions and weights may vary slightly depending on the stones used and your specific selections.

  • Diamond grading tolerances
    • For diamonds, there can be a typical variation of around ± 1 colour grade and ± 1 clarity grade.

We use advanced CAD designs to guide production and to keep pieces as consistent as possible.
However, these small variations in dimensions, weight, total diamond weight and grading are not treated as faults and are not covered as defects under this Warranty Policy.

If you are unsure about sizing or specifications, we recommend contacting us before placing your order.

4. What is considered a warranty issue?

Examples of issues that may be covered under this policy include:

  • The jewellery design delivered is not the design that was ordered
  • The diamond or gemstone specifications do not match what was agreed (covered under Lifetime Diamond Warranty)
  • The gold or platinum purity does not match the description
  • A manufacturing fault present at the time of supply that is not caused by misuse, accident, wear and tear or improper care. You should report these defects with in 3 business days of delivery.

Each case is assessed individually. Where there is a valid warranty issue, Aurumya will offer an appropriate remedy in line with this policy and Australian Consumer Law.
This may include repair, remake, replacement or refund, depending on the nature of the issue.

5. What is not covered by this Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear from everyday use
  • Accidental damage, such as knocks, drops or impacts
  • Chipping, cracking or breakage from impact
  • Loss or theft of the jewellery or stones
  • Damage caused by:
    • Misuse or rough handling
    • Exposure to harsh chemicals or environments
    • Attempted repairs or alterations by non-Aurumya or non-approved jewellers

If a jewellery item is broken due to wear and tear or accidental damage, it will not be refunded under this policy.
Aurumya will, however, be happy to help assess whether the item can be repaired and discuss repair options and costs.

6. Relationship with returns, resizing and buy-back

  • Returns & Refunds:
    • Ready-to-ship items may be eligible for 30-day change-of-mind returns where indicated on the product page.
    • Made to order items cannot be returned for change of mind, sizing or preference reasons.
    • Returns for made to order items are only accepted where the product specifications do not meet what was promised (for example, incorrect design, incorrect diamond specs or incorrect metal purity).
  • Resizing:
    • Sizing issues are generally addressed through our Resizing Policy, not as a warranty fault, unless there is a clear manufacturing error.

8. Australian Consumer Law and exceptions

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this Warranty Policy.

Consumer guarantees generally do not apply if you:

  • Received what you asked for, but simply:
    • Changed your mind
    • Found it cheaper elsewhere
    • Decided you did not like the purchase
    • Had no use for it
  • Misused the product in any way that caused the problem
  • Knew of, or were made aware of, any faults before you bought the product
  • Asked for a service to be completed in a certain way against the advice of Aurumya, or were unclear about what you wanted
