Refund policy

At Aurumya, we want you to feel confident when you purchase from us.
This policy explains when returns and refunds are available, and how they work for ready-to-ship and made to order pieces.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

 

1. 30-day returns – ready-to-ship pieces

Aurumya offers a 30-day return policy on eligible ready-to-ship orders.

  • Whether an item is eligible will be shown in the details section on the product page.
  • If a 30-day return is not mentioned on the product description page, the piece is treated as made to order and this change-of-mind policy does not apply.

For eligible ready-to-ship pieces:

  • You may request a return within 30 days of receiving your order.
  • You will need to ship the item back to us, and:
  • The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance costs for any change of mind returns.
  • We will verify that the item has not been worn and is in acceptable condition under this policy.
  • Once the item has been assessed and approved, we will confirm the next steps and refund method.

 

2. Made to order and custom pieces

Made to order jewellery is created specifically for you and is not stocked as a standard item.

For made to order items:

Change-of-mind returns are not available, including for:

  • Change of mind
  • Sizing issues
  • Preference changes (for example, deciding you prefer a different style after ordering)

The only acceptable returns for made to order items are where:

  • An incorrect design has been delivered compared to what was ordered; or
  • The diamond does not match the description; or
  • The gold or platinum purity does not match the description

Jewellery sizes and dimensions shown throughout the website are approximate.
For made to order pieces, sizes and dimensions can change depending on:

  • The specific diamonds used
  • Any customisation requested

Diamond clarity and colour ranges

For made to order items, diamond clarity and colour are promised within a range:

  • For example, for VVS clarity, diamonds may be VVS1 or VVS2
  • We will make the specifications clear to you when you order, and they will also be listed on the website product description or in your documentation

Clarity and colour may be equal to or better than what is stated, not inferior. For example:

  • If we state an F colour diamond, the stone may be D, E or F
  • If a lower colour or clarity is being considered for a custom order (for example, due to availability), we will confirm this with you before making the piece

We also declare that there can be around ±1 grade difference in colour and clarity as part of normal grading tolerances.
The exact grading for your stone is set out in the certification provided with your purchase.

If you are unsure about sizing, clarity, colour or specifications, please call and consult with us before placing an order so we can help you choose the best option.

 

3. Diamonds, metal purity and refunds

In line with our Warranty Policy and Lifetime Diamond Warranty:

  • If the diamonds do not match the agreed description, a full refund of the item will be made.
  • If the gold or platinum purity does not match the description, a full refund will be made.

These remedies relate to misdescription of the core stone and metal characteristics.

Normal manufacturing tolerances (for example, small variations in dimensions, weight and total diamond weight) are not treated as faults.

Apart from quality issues:

  • If a jewellery item is broken due to wear and tear, it will not be refunded.
  • Aurumya will be happy to help you assess whether the item can be repaired and to discuss repair options and costs.

 

4. How to request a return or refund

If you wish to request a return or refund:

1. Contact us with:

  • Your name
  • Your order number
  • A short description of the reason for the return

2. We will confirm:

  • Whether your item is ready-to-ship or made to order, and
  • Whether it is eligible under this policy

3. We will provide instructions on:

  • How and where to send the item, and
  • Any other information we may need to assess your request

Please do not send items back without first contacting us, as this may delay processing.

 

5. Resizing and other options

If your issue is sizing rather than a defect:

  • Made to order items cannot be returned for sizing reasons, but
  • Aurumya offers one complimentary resizing for rings, with customers responsible for shipping and insurance costs, subject to our Resizing Policy and design limits

In some cases, it may be safer to remake or adjust a piece rather than refund it. We will discuss the available options with you based on your specific item.

 

6. Australian Consumer Law and exceptions

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this policy.

Consumer guarantees generally do not apply if you:

  • Received what you asked for, but simply changed your mind, found it cheaper elsewhere, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it
  • Misused the product in a way that caused the problem
  • Knew of, or were made aware of, any faults before you bought the product
  • Asked for a service to be completed in a certain way against our advice, or were unclear about what you wanted
